2024 Boer Goat Course
The Boer Goat Course is an opportunity to learn selection of the Boer Goat, as they do in South Africa. Husbandry and reproduction will be discussed.
The basic selection is by phenotype. To understand how and why, it takes time to sort stock and discuss the qualities of the animals. This is something that is usually done as a community, to come to general conclusions about how to progress the breed and keep it photogenically correct for the breed, by selection. The opportunity to learn from long term Boer Goat breeders and judges, is very valuable.
The three highly qualified, judges/instructors for 2024 are Anton Ward, Roger McSwain, and Kathy Daves. The course assistant is Rico Zaldivar.
This is a one day course, May 29th. The day begins at 8:30 am and wraps up at about 4 pm. After you are done with the Boer Goat Course, there are other activities and speakers with product, for attendees.
