Intern Introduction for Goat Expo 2025


We have had a request to have 6 additional, 4-H Youth, that live in a more suburban area. They would like to be interns at Goat Expo. We would really like to make this happen and need your help: Please donate $25. This will go toward housing and food for the week.

We are thrilled to welcome this year’s group of talented and passionate interns to the Goat Expo team! Each of these young women brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and enthusiasm for agriculture and livestock, making them invaluable assets to ensuring a seamless experience for vendors and attendees alike.


Miley Sosa, a 17-year-old senior at Wright City High School, is pursuing a future in Agricultural Business. With seven years in 4-H (currently serving as vice president) and roles as FFA chapter reporter and Junior ABGA member, Miley has extensive experience showing goats, chickens, and horses. She is also involved in community service and a tractor restoration club, showcasing her love for agriculture and hands-on learning.


Karlea Bolser, a 17-year-old senior at Santa Fe High School, has been involved in 4-H and FFA since age eight. She has shown sheep, goats, horses, and poultry, and her passion for livestock led her to build her own Boer goat herd. Karlea’s achievements include Grand Champion Showman at Youth Goat Camp in 2024, and she plans to study Agricultural Business at Missouri Valley College to inspire future generations in agriculture.


Allyson Spurgeon, a 16-year-old with a lifelong passion for showing goats and horses, is an active member of Adrian FFA (serving as chapter historian), taking part in CDE activities and public speaking. In Archie Achiever 4-H, Allyson’s active in sewing, cooking, and beekeeping.. Allyson’s dedication to showmanship led her to be the Senior Champion Showman at the Market Youth Goat Camp in 2023. With Allyson’s interest in baking she created a sourdough bread business which reflects her hard work and creativity. She is passionate about helping others and values the life lessons learned through livestock showing.


Tatem Nichols, a 15-year-old sophomore from Columbia, MO, has been showing goats for six years and now owns her own goat farm. Tatem is excited to share her knowledge and help others gain confidence and experience in the show ring, just as Goat Camp helped her come out of her shell.


Hildie Portell, a 19-year-old working in biotechnology, has 11 years of experience showing goats, lambs, and pigs. With numerous accolades, including high point champion in the Southern Missouri Jackpot series, Hildie is passionate about teaching showmanship and inspiring the next generation. She plans to pursue a career as a Veterinarian Technician while continuing to make an impact in the livestock industry.


Bailee Vogel, a 16-year-old junior at Sacred Heart High School, has been showing goats for six years. She is an active member of 4-H and NHS. She was the Grand Champion Intermediate Showman at the Market Youth Goat Camp in 2022 and continues to excel in the goat industry as a result of her dedication. Bailee’s love for the industry stems from the support and mentorship she received, and she is eager to pay it forward by helping younger participants at Goat Expo.


Carsyn Petree, an 18-year-old senior at Tipton High School, has been involved in 4-H and FFA for nine years, showing goats and participating in various competitions. Carsyn plans to study animal science and pursue a career in veterinary medicine while continuing to support youth in agriculture.
Carsyn has had one doe become the Overall Supreme Champion, at the Boer Goat Congress, in three categories: (2021) Boer Doe, (2022) Three Yearling Does, and (2023) Doe & Kid(s). This is an amazing accomplishment.


Ashera Ali El, a dedicated homeschool student from St. Louis, Missouri, is a driven young professional with a clear vision for her future in the beauty and wellness industry. Aspiring to become a licensed esthetician and entrepreneur, she combines her passion for skincare with a deep commitment to self-care, innovation, and leadership. Her enthusiasm for the field extends beyond personal interest, as she seeks to empower others through education on healthy skincare practices and the importance of self-confidence.
An active and engaged youth leader, Ashera plays a significant role in both 4-H and 4-L (Live, Learn, Lead & Listen), where she contributes to programs that foster personal growth, teamwork, and community engagement. Her dedication to youth development has led to her upcoming position on the 4-H Advisory Board, where she will collaborate with peers and mentors to design initiatives that inspire the next generation of leaders. Through these experiences, she continues to refine her leadership skills while advocating for opportunities that help young people thrive.
Beyond her professional ambitions, Ashera expresses her creativity through crochet and West African dance, two art forms that allow her to explore cultural traditions and connect with others. Whether crafting handmade pieces or performing dynamic dance movements, she embraces these outlets as ways to celebrate heritage, build community, and encourage self-expression.
With an unwavering optimism and a determined mindset, Ashera is committed to achieving her goals while uplifting those around her. She believes in the power of perseverance, authenticity, and kindness, striving to create a positive impact in both her career and personal endeavors. As she continues her journey, she remains focused on inspiring others to embrace their unique talents, pursue their passions, and cultivate confidence in every aspect of life.

Together, these interns will assist with welcoming exhibitors and attendees, check-in stock, assist in finding pens and setting up vendors, along with ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees and so much more. Their dedication, expertise, and enthusiasm make them exceptional representatives of the Goat Expo mission. Please join us in welcoming them to the team!
