SPIRIT OF MISSOURI DAIRY YOUTH FUN SHOW
Awards:
• Grand & Reserve Champions
• Division Grand & Reserve Ribbons
Registration & Fees:
• Enter online before May 29th. $8. per class
• Pay pen fees in advance.
• Pen Fee: $10.00 (for any pens in use).
Arrival & Departure:
• Arrival:
o Thursday after 1pm
o Friday after 9am
• Departure: Friday before 5pm
• Stalls must be cleaned before departing.
• You may show from your trailer.
Bedding:
• Shavings only (do not use hay or straw for bedding).
Eligibility:
• Youth up to 18 years old.
• All youth in need of assistance will have another youth help.
• No ownership rules.


Rules:

  1. All animals must be inspected prior to unloading.
  2. All breeds may enter. Classes will be determined by the number of breed entries. “All Other Breed” classes will be created based on entry numbers.
  3. Junior and Senior Does only; no bucks.
  4. Wethers will be weighed.
  5. All animals must have a scrapie tag, tattoo (with registration certificate), microchip, or other permanent identification listed on a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. If a microchip is used, the exhibitor must provide a microchip reader. Tattoos or permanent identification will be verified against registration papers at check-in.
  6. Grooming is at the exhibitor’s discretion. Please be responsible.
  7. No permanent physical changes may be made to the animals.
  8. The animal’s hair color may not be artificially changed.
  9. Please bring your stock washed and clipped prior to the event.
  10. Any goat showing pronounced defects or abnormalities (e.g., weak constitution, unthrifty condition, overshot/undershot jaw, abscesses) will be barred from showing.
  11. All goats must be free of clinical signs of infectious or contagious diseases.
  12. No drenching.
  13. No show halter leads with sharp objects or cable halters (including cable leads) are allowed.
  14. Style of showing is up to the exhibitor.
  15. Each exhibitor may enter as many does and wethers as they like.
  16. If multiple animals are entered in one class, another youth must show the additional animal(s).
  17. No ownership rules.

• Junior Does
• Senior Does
• Wethers by weight
Awards:
• Grand and Reserve Division
• Over-All Grand and Reserve Junior and Senior Does
• Grand & Reserve Wethers
Class Organization:

  1. Classes will be divided as closely as possible, aiming for approximately ten animals per class.

Show Attire & Conduct:
• Proper show attire is required.
• No hats in the arena.
• Phones must be turned off during judging.


Milking Competitions:
• Exhibitors may milk their own animals in a speed/quantity competition.
• Alternatively, the judge may evaluate milking techniques, including cleanliness.


Sportsmanship:
• Good sportsmanship is a must. Kindness and respect in all things.


Photos:
• Grand and Reserve Grand Champions, as well as Division Champions, are required to have their photos taken with the judge.


Departure:
• All pens must be cleaned prior to departure.
