Step Outside the Box with Crystal Hageman’s Whimsical Creations at Value Added Vendor Days!
Get ready to be delighted, inspired, and maybe even a little surprised! Crystal Hageman, the creative force behind Outside the Box, is bringing her one-of-a-kind, handcrafted treasures to the Value Added Vendor Days on May 30th-31st. Located in Richland, Missouri, Crystal and her daughter are a dynamic mother-daughter duo who pour their hearts into every stitch, loop, and design. Their creations are more than just crafts—they’re a celebration of creativity, love, and the belief that “You can’t do art wrong.”
A Legacy of Creativity
Outside the Box was born during a deeply meaningful time in Crystal’s life—her mother’s final year. It was her mother who instilled in them the fearless mindset that art has no rules and no mistakes, only opportunities to create something unique. This philosophy lives on in every crocheted plushie, whimsical gnome wreath, and funky craft item they make. Each piece is a testament to their God-given talents and their shared passion for turning imagination into reality.
What You’ll Find at Their Booth
Crystal’s booth is a treasure trove of handmade wonders that will make you smile, laugh, and maybe even say, “I’ve never seen anything like this before!” Here’s a sneak peek at what you can expect:
- Adorable Crocheted Plushies: From cuddly animals to quirky characters, these plushies are perfect for kids and kids-at-heart.
- Gnome Wreaths: Add a touch of whimsy to your home with these charming, handcrafted wreaths featuring everyone’s favorite mythical creatures.

Why You’ll Love Outside the Box
Crystal’s work is more than just crafts—it’s an invitation to embrace your own creativity. Her booth is a space where art feels approachable, fun, and endlessly inspiring. Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or someone who’s never picked up a crochet hook, Crystal’s creations remind us all that art is about expression, not perfection.
Meet the Maker
Crystal and her daughter are as warm and welcoming as their creations. Stop by their booth to chat, share a laugh, and maybe even pick up a few crafting tips. They’d love to hear your stories and help you find the perfect piece to take home.

Discover the Art of Goat Milk Soap Making with Julia Lutz of “Happy Does” at Value Added Vendor Days
We are excited to announce that Julia Lutz, the creative mind behind Happy Does, will be joining us for the upcoming Value Added Vendor Days on May 31st! Julia will be hosting a live demonstration on the art of crafting goat milk soap, sharing her expertise and passion for this unique and rewarding craft. Whether you’re a seasoned soap maker or simply curious about the process, Julia’s demonstration promises to be both educational and inspiring.
But that’s not all! Julia will also be participating in the Meet & Greet on Thursday evening, May 29th, where attendees will have the opportunity to connect with her, learn more about her journey, and explore her beautifully crafted goat milk soaps.
A Journey from Kansas City to Goat Milk Soap Artistry
Julia’s story is as rich and fascinating as the soaps she creates. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Julia moved to Clear Lake, Iowa, at the age of three. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1984 and went on to earn a degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. For 27 years, Julia dedicated her career to serving others, working for the Missouri Department of Mental Health in Kansas City before retiring in 2020.
Today, Julia lives on a picturesque acreage near Green Castle, Missouri, with her husband, Bill. Together, they tend to a small herd of Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats, which sparked Julia’s passion for goat milk soap making. Her daughter, a student at Truman State University, and their three dogs complete their lively household.
The Inspiration Behind “Happy Does”
Julia’s venture into soap making began with her love for her Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats. Known for their rich, creamy milk, these goats provided the perfect ingredient for crafting luxurious, nourishing soap. Julia’s brand, Happy Does, reflects her joy in creating high-quality, natural products that celebrate the benefits of goat milk.
Goat milk soap is renowned for its gentle, moisturizing properties, making it ideal for all skin types. During her demonstration, Julia will walk attendees through the entire soap-making process, from selecting ingredients to the final product. You’ll gain insight into the science and artistry behind this timeless craft and leave with a deeper appreciation for the skill and care that goes into every bar.
Don’t Miss the Meet & Greet!
Before her demonstration, join Julia at the Meet & Greet on Thursday evening, May 29th. This is your chance to get to know Julia, hear more about her journey, and ask questions about her soap-making process. You’ll also have the opportunity to browse her collection of goat milk soaps, each one a testament to her dedication and creativity.
Why Attend Julia’s Demonstration?
- Learn from an Expert: Julia’s years of experience and passion for soap making make her an exceptional teacher.
- Hands-On Inspiration: Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crafter, Julia’s demonstration will spark new ideas and techniques.
- Discover the Benefits of Goat Milk Soap: Understand why goat milk soap is a favorite among skincare enthusiasts.
- Support Local Artisans: Julia’s story is a testament to the power of pursuing your passions and creating something truly special.
