Market Youth Goat Camp at Goat Expo
The Market Youth Goat Camp is a focused educational experience designed to help youth develop strong showmanship, livestock management, and presentation skills essential for success in the market goat industry.
Enrollment is limited to 25 participants, allowing instructors to provide individualized instruction and hands-on guidance. Campers work closely with experienced professionals to learn proper goat selection, daily care, grooming, fitting, and ring presentation.
The camp combines classroom instruction with practical arena sessions, building knowledge progressively so youth understand both how and why techniques are used. Campers also participate in evening activities that encourage teamwork, confidence, and lasting friendships within the goat industry.
The experience concludes with a Final Showmanship Competition, with awards presented by age division. Campers may also enter the Skill-A-Thon, testing knowledge in goat care, anatomy, and management.
