Mike and Marjeanna Smith: Dedicated to Excellence in Boer Goats and Generosity in Community
Nestled in the scenic Southwest region of Missouri, 2MS Boer Goats in Milo is more than just a farm—it’s a testament to passion, precision, and a commitment to bettering the Boer goat breed. Owners Mike and Marjeanna Smith pour their dedication into raising a small, elite herd of registered Boer goats, prioritizing structural integrity, breed standards, and exceptional mothering and milking abilities.
Understanding that progress begins with careful selection, the Smiths ensure every animal entering their breeding program undergoes thorough health and DNA testing. Their philosophy is simple: advancing the breed means choosing only the best, not just the prettiest. Their herd consists of high-quality Boer does, each raising strong, healthy kids destined to contribute to the future of the breed.
Meticulous record-keeping plays a pivotal role in their operation. By tracking detailed performance data on each doe and buck, the Smiths make informed decisions that strengthen their herd’s genetics, ensuring only the most valuable animals remain. This disciplined approach allows them to continually improve their stock while upholding the highest standards.

Beyond their dedication to breeding excellence, Mike and Marjeanna are known for their generosity. They recently donated custom, handmade woodwork awards for the Youth Goat Camp and Silent Auction at Goat Expo, showcasing their support for the next generation of goat enthusiasts. Marjeanna’s craftsmanship reflects the same care and attention to detail that she applies to their goats—making each piece not just an award, but a cherished keepsake.
For the Smiths, raising Boer goats is more than a livelihood—it’s a labor of love, a commitment to quality, and a way to give back to the agricultural community that means so much to them.
